arcives... February 2006

02/17/06 (6:57 PM): I added another symptom to my sickness.
That's right, I threw up. I just want to be better. I've been
sick for far too long.
-
02/17/06 (10:04 AM): Day 7 of sickness. Yup, stayed home from
work, again. I only worked 10.75 hours this week... when I
really needed to be working! My body feels better today, but
I still have this horrible pressure in my sinus. My head feels
like it is going to explode. I'm camped out in my
room today. Every time I stand up, I get this sharp pain. It
sucks.

02/15/06 (8:37 AM): I hate being sick. My soar throat and fatigue
turned into a head cold. Now I have a headache, stuffy and
runny rose, coughing, sneezing... the whole "cold" yards. I
almost prefer when I was sick at Christmas. At least I was
better two days later, colds just linger.

02/14/06 (5:37 PM): Happy Valentines Day! Jesse gave us this
photo. Pictured here are Lydia, Erick, and me. Lydia and I are double-crossed
(girls dressed as boys dressed as girls). You can see the fake boobs
and chest hair better on Lyd in this photo, you get the idea. The things
between our fake breasts were salt grinder shakers for the Margarita
Jello shots we made. They were yummy.

02/13/06 (10:37 PM): This past weekend was great! Friday night
Lydia and I spent the evening preparing for the Annual Cross-Dress
party. We put the finishing touches on our costumes and Bryan
came over to help us make the loads of Jello shots. Lyd and
I went double-crossed... yes, girls dressed as boys dressed
as girls. We made really great looking fake boobs that I must
say was close to being the hit of the party. Our photo was
taken many times, but I didn't bring the camera. I'll have
to try and get a photo to post on here. Bryan, Lyd and I were
the Jello Shot girls, so everyone loved us anyway. How can
you not like people serving you Jello shots? I think we took
close seconds to Travis and Tim who went as Rosey the Rivitor
and I'm not sure what exact time period Travis was dressed
as, but I'd say it was the 40s. He was in a uniform with garter
and the wig was the perfect look... like he look just like
he came out of an old photo. They were great. My fake books
were grabbed all night, but luckily Lyd and I only got actually
groped a couple of times. Tis what you deal with at a party
with lots of drunk people. We dealed of course and avoided
said people for the rest of the evening. Then Sunday I woke
early, cause I got a text message... damn phone. So I got up
and cleaned the kitchen and made breakfast for everyone. Then
we went to
Syracuse to get Bryan's hockey equipment and did Barnes and
Noble "Lydia's style." We got some beverages and looked at design
books. I was not happy that they were out of the black tea
I enjoy drinking. They'll be out until spring. What the hell
is that all about? They only have like 6 choices to begin with.
The only other black tea they have is Apricot. Really, I don't
want fruit in my tea. I just like plain black tea. Nothing
in it, just tea. So I got some kind of green tea that wasn't
that great. Oh well, that is just my luck. I was so over tired
that hockey was more strenuous, than anything else. And, of
course, I got sick... THANKS DAD! This is what happens every
time I deprive myself of sleep, but I knew it was
coming. My soar throat started Friday night, but was
mild. By Sunday it was hurting pretty good. I woke up this
morning and barely could pull myself out of bed to write an
email to work (throat hurt too much to call). I feel better
now, but I'm hoping I don't wake tomorrow and feel like garbage
too. Rest was really what I needed most. The rest of my February
is looking pretty busy. I thought I has some free time, but
then I got a bunch of emails requesting my presence. What can
I say, I'm popular these days... but I'm not going to last
if I don't get some rest. That's what I'm going to do now...
rest.

02/06/06 (10:01 PM): What an unbelievable day I've had! This
morning I'm on my way to work and I figured that it stopped
snowing over night and there was hardly any snow on the ground.
So I decide to take the back roads. I come around a bend and
hit black ice. I immediately start fish tailing and I almost
gained control... then I lost it again. I did a 360 and skid
off of the road into a ditch. SHIT. That's what I said, I didn't
actually shit. So I get on the phone with my roadside assistance.
Can't find
a tow truck and they'll call me back. Two hours later I finally
got pulled out of that ditch. But, let me tell you, I was one
lucky girl. I missed a bunch of trees as I fish tailed past.
Missed a guard rail by about 10 feet and stopped short of a
small creek by about 15 feet. My guardian angel is incredible!
Addy and I are fine. I took her for an oil change and asked
them to look at her, completely fine.
Then I had a long day at work. New employee, tight deadlines, stressful
day. Happy Mondays! I also was supposed to go on a date tonight,
but he cancelled on me, again. Sigh. He had car troubles too...
guess it was just the Monday from Hell for everyone! So I had
nice pretty pictures of my Ooopsy this morning. But, just before
I wrote this post I stuck my card in and... it was blank. I
showed Lydia the photos this morning... they were there. So
pissed off about that one! Fucking technology... pardon my
language... I hope that tomorrow is a better day or I'm going
to need a good strong drink!
OH, let me tell you a bit more about my luck... you've got time, right?
So I sat home all day and night Saturday. Just couldn't bring
myself to go out for some reason (totally unlike me). So Sunday
I decided that I needed to do something. I call up Lyd and
away we went to go to the MOST (Museum
of Science and Technology). It's a cool little museum. They
have a planetarium, most of
the reason I wanted to go. So, we rush up there to make the
2:15 showing and they were having technical difficulties...
said they would announce when they were back up and running.
We stayed for another 2 hours... no announcement. I really
wanted to see the planetarium. Crap, I had photos of that to
share on the camera card too, a nice one of me and Lyd in front
of T-Rex. Shit, technology really blows. Now you get no images
to complement my stories... sorry, blame the camera. We also
went and saw "Brokeback Mountain," which also stunk in my opinion.
The movie started OK, the middle was OK, but then it had a
bad ending. Why do people do that to stories? It was completely
un-climatic and boring. I was fully disappointed. Fun with
Dick and Jane was a much better movie. I thought it was funny
and I laughed hard.
