07/25/06 (8:44 AM): I decided since I was taking a painting
class, and the pre-rec was a drawing class, I should start
drawing now to practice. Can we talk about how I can't draw??
I suck at it. I drew for a while, then I finally starting drawing
something that looked decent. I still need a ton of work though.
Hopefully I can stay relatively dedicated to this. I got a
panic worry over me about taking the class and sucking at painting
(considering I've never painted a thing in my life). But, I
have to keep telling myself that this is for FUN! I just don't
want to embarrass myself! I based this off of one of my 26
Things photos I did a long time ago. It's not an exact replication,
but then again it isn't supposed to be. I don't think I'm going
to be a very realistic painter. Which is ok, cause I don't
really like realistic art.

07/24/06 (9:24 PM): Well, I did it. I registered for the painting
class at MCC. It's going to be a major pain in the ass because
the class is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00-3:50pm. So, I'm
going to try to go in early to work on those days and work
half days. Then I'm going to work on Sundays. It'll be a challenge
and a big expense, but I'm ready for a change to my daily routine.
Plus, I really think it'll help foster my creativity in the
long run. I hope I enjoy it! Class starts September 5!

07/23/06 (6:06 PM): Today I have not done a whole lot. I went
for a long walk, which was great. Game me lots of time to think...
which I'm not sure helps me all that much. I hiked up this
huge hill to the smaller Clyde water tower and then walked
through a woodsy area. Which makes you very itchy by the way.
I then went around the long block and into the graveyard. I
love walking the the graveyard, so peaceful! Plus, with no one
around I can
feel free to break out and shake my ass (a good song came on
the iPod)! Then I came home and decided to get rid of half
my shoes. That's right, half! Well, maybe just short of half,
but I've eliminated at least 15 pairs of shoes I NEVER wear.
I like to think it's
part of this movement of cleaning all the un-needed shit out
of my life. Sometimes I wish I was better at it! Then I laid
on the couch with my fat cat for an hour, that was bliss. There
is something about that cat that always just makes me feel
better. I was thinking about heading over to Music for Murals,
but I don't know what time it goes until and Lydia never answers
her phone (grr).
On the diet front, I've lost 13.5 pounds. Not bad, but damn am I frustrated.
Half starving myself and exercising
for the past month and a half you'd hope for better results
than that. Then again, I did cheat in between. While I was
sick I didn't exercise and the wine festival was just calorie
crazy (love the wine).
Last night my cousin Caleb got married. Wow. The wedding was rough
for me at first. Nothing like seeing all that love when you
are feeling so shitty, but it got much better (with every glass
of wine I had). Seriously though, I did have a good time. It
was great to spend the night with my cousin Hannah who I miss
dearly. She told me all about
her cross country trip, her kayaking the length of Lake George
and all her summer plans of hiking in Colorado (can we say
very very jealous???). That and we all got to shake our butts
to all the usual bad wedding songs. I even pulled out the Electric
slide (but I did not do the Macarena). Apparently, Cotten Eyed
Joe also has a dance, which my younger cousins had to teach
me. The great thing about the dancing was that I burned off
all the calories I consumed with the wine... yea! A Special
thanks to Cindy the bartender. She was great! When I got home
I went to Lyd's to see my friends for a bit... and to see Tucker.
Tucker is my uncle's dog, we were watching him. He's my favorite
dog ever and I love to snuggle with his fluffy big cute self.

07/17/06 (10:33 PM): Softball update: Tuesday's game we won!
It's against the best (or maybe 2nd) team in the league. We
were all shocked and surprised, but we played a great game.
I brought in the winning run in the bottom of the last inning!
Wednesday's game was a lot of fun, but we lost. We played Halfway
Haus II (we are Halfway Haus) and we had a lot of laughs. We
didn't do so well, because our team was short on man power
and we walked close to 9 runs in the first inning. We came
back in the second inning, but slowly fell away again. We were
all really hot and it's the third game we've had this week
(I missed the game on Monday). It's not so great playing in
such hot weather, but we manage. I have another game tonight
in Geneva, wish me luck!
I also signed back up for Match. I know, you are laughing at me. But,
I never meet people and I'm sick of being alone. Worse yet
I'm sick of guys leading me on and then leaving when something
better comes along. I'd be nice to go on some dates for a change,
or to be pursued and wanted. Maybe I did it for a boost of
self esteem... I need that lately!

07/17/06 (10:33 PM): This past weekend was very tiring, but
fun! It was the Finger Lakes Wine Festival!! Lydia and I wore
ourselves out preparing supplies and food for 10 people. No
one went hungry, without shelter or thirsty, so I'd say we
did our jobs. I tasted some very good wines, but I think my
best in show (according to my taste buds) goes to Keuka
Overlook for their Johannisberg Riesling. It was very yumma, however
their website is the damn near worst winery website I've seen.
They could really use my company's help. Yikes (Please make
the noises stop). Maybe I could trade them for many cases of
their Riesling (yes, it was that good). There was another winery
that had a Raspberry Riesling that was tasty too... although
the name escapes me now. I have it in my wine booklet.
I saw Pirates of the Caribbean tonight. I think I was far too excited
to see that movie. It wasn't as good as the first and left
me feeling very unsatisfied. We all know how I hate to feel
unsatisfied... but, then again that has been happening a lot
lately. I can't wait until I move away. Where should I go??
I'm leaning towards Seattle... but who knows where the wind
will take me. Until then, I'm going to concentrate on my financial
situation. I've been thinking more and more about a part-time
job, but they are surprisingly hard to find. If I did find
one, I'd have to almost love doing it... or I know I won't.
Let me know if you hear of anything.
Until next time, I bid thee fair well... @--}-----------------------
You're the best!

07/11/06 (12:15 AM): What a damn month July has been. I really
thought June was bad enough, but July is worse. Someone once
said to me "25 was the hardest year I ever had." I'm starting
to think it's true and I can't wait to be 26. Too bad I have
11 more months to go... I just have the shittiest luck and
I don't know how to turn it around. They say that were one
door closes, a window opens. Well, I'm sitting in the house
in the middle of summer and I'm hot... because there is no
air flowing through my house...

07/10/06 (8:25 PM): I'm so sick of being sick. I don't know
how I managed to get sick again, but I'm done. I keep coughing
and blowing the nose, it's not pretty folks. I'm done taking
the antibiotics they gave me and I've gotten better, but I'm
ready to be healthy again. This past weekend I got to see Val
and Karey. We hung out all Saturday in Fair Haven. They convinced
me to lay in the sun. It did feel good. We also got a great
boat ride, thanks Richy-poo! Sunday I went to Cornhill Arts
Festival in Rochester with Kate. Do you think I could go without
buying something... well, you are right. I did buy something,
jewelry, big surprise. I got a really cook necklace and a ring.
I know, me and rings... but I really like this one, so I think
I'm going to wear it. Kate hasn't seen Rochester at all, so
I showed her some highlight points. She saw RIT, Cornhill,
High Falls, downtown and Monroe. A pretty good view of the
city. My Lydia is back too!! Yeah! Now I won't be bored and
lonely any more! Just 5 more days 'til wine
festival folks.
It's not too late to join us, we've got plenty of room at our
campsite.

07/01/06 (11:05 PM): Happy Holiday long weekend. I'm spending
mine working. But, it's some easy work. I'm giving two wine
tours, one today and one on Monday. Basically I get paid to
drive some people to the wineries. Pretty easy job. I cannot
pass up the chance to earn some extra money. I'm basically
earning half one of my pay checks in one weekend. It'll make
wine festival weekend
a little more palatable. Which, by the way, if you have not
gotten your tickets to the wine festival, you should! It's
great fun and we are camping out right on site... I highly
recommend you come out and enjoy with us. I'm also watching
Howie this weekend (Laura's dog) for a little extra too. So
I'll be there for a few nights. Catch ya later.
