about me

I was raised in a small town, Clyde, in Upstate New York. I attended the Clyde-Savannah Jr.-Sr. High School and graduated in a small class of 63 people. I then continued my education at the Rochester Institute of Technology. I studied Information Technology with a concentration in Web Design and Development. After college, I started a position as a Print Production Artist for a small design studio in Auburn, NY, Coburn Design. It was there I learned about graphic design and developed my skills. I left as a Senior Graphic/Web Designer.

I was very involved in the community, through volunteering and network events. I graduated from Leadership Cayuga, class of 2005, a program to develop leaders. I was a founding member and created the identity of IGNITE, a young professionals group focused on community involvement and professional development.

I spent 9 months working for Association Management Group down in the Metro DC area of Northern Virginia. I was an internal designer, shared between 16 membership associations.

I moved to Vermont to work at Nomad Communications/Nomad Press as a Designer, but fell victim of the recession. While unemployed, I did various freelance work.

After contracting periodically for a year at the Human Capital Institute, they decided to hire me full-time, and quickly promoted be to Creative Director overseeing several interns. I wore many creative hats at the company, and enjoyed the flexibility of working from home after they closed the local office. I also enjoyed traveling to the company's conferences, where I helped manage and run 30 events, as well as served as the event photographer.

I currently reside in New Hampshire, bordering the state of Vermont with my two cats, Flora and Fauna. I serve on the board of the Upper Valley Young Professionals as both the Marketing and Networking Chairs. For recreation, I enjoy playing floor hockey and snow boarding in the winter and hiking and softball in the summer. I inspire my creativity through photography, painting and screen printing. I love spending as much time as I can outside gardening, camping, hiking, walking, taking photographs or just taking a drive on a beautiful day. I also like to visit my home lands and enjoy the Finger Lakes wines.
